Hello everyone I hope you’ve been finding the time to get out on our beautiful Charlotte Harbor to see all the gorgeous clear water that we enjoy each spring. The extra clear water this time of year is the result of strong tides and cool water temperatures coupled with low rainfall which allows the clear pristine waters of the Gulf of Mexico to enter our bay farther north than any other time of year. It is a perfect opportunity for viewing marine life such as our local Manatee and dolphin population.
As for the fishing we have been catching good numbers on each outing. Snook, Seatrout, and a few Redfish along with some Spanish Mackerel/Jacks and others are keeping our lines tight these days. This is by far one of the best times of year to enjoy the fishing and boating and our local Charlotte Harbor area. If you have not yet enjoyed any of our local fishing be sure to set up a charter sometime in the next six weeks to see what you have been missing. It is a very low impact easy to learn style of fishing with no rough water or seasickness to deal with. The local back country fishing in our area is lots of fun as there is normally good action at the end of your line as well as plenty to see from my wildlife standpoint in the beautiful mangrove islands of our Harbor. Here is an example of yesterday’s afternoon charter were these two lucky guys got to enjoy the thrill of big redfish ripping drag off their light tackle in shallow water!

Till next time!
